Dr. Russell Drakeley - Partner
The longest serving member of CGR's team, Russell was appointed to the board in 1989.
Russell has worked with a diverse range of organisations in all fields of industry and commerce in both the public and private sectors in nearly twenty years in consultancy. His clients include some of the largest law firms in the world, several major banks, multinational manufacturing companies, high street retailers, and charitable organisations. From working with the main Board of an overseas bank on the implementation and evaluation of major change initiatives, to designing new tests for call centre staff, Russell has worked at every level of within our client companies.
Russell has a particular interest in quantitative methods and is an acknowledged expert on psychometrics. He has developed and refined CGR's approach to competency analysis, and was one of the first psychologists in the UK to be awarded the BPS "Full Level B" certificate of competence in occupational testing. He is regularly invited to review tests and to contribute to publications on selection and assessment. On this subject, he has spoken at international conferences in Japan, Germany and the US, and on BBC Radio.
A Chartered Occupational Psychologist, Russell was formerly a member of two of the oldest departments of applied psychology in the UK and an Honorary Research Fellow in the Psychology Department of University College London. He continues to be involved in the academic life of the profession whenever his commitments to CGR will permit.
